A' Award and Competitions are proud to see that the design Heart Aid by Sahar Madanat Haddad won the famed Silver A' Design Award at Scientific Instruments, Medical Devices and Research Equipment Design Competition marked as one of the winners by the international judging committee of the A' Design Awards & Competitions amidst numerous nominations.

Sahar Madanat Haddad, the lead designer of the winning work Heart Aid says ?Too many lives are lost to cardiac arrest every year, simply because the appropriate medical response was not available in time. Heart Aid is designed to fill that critical gap in time, between the start of a heart attack to the arrival of the paramedics. Clever ergonomic features that reduce error and save precious time, empower non-medical professionals, to increase the victim's chances of survival from a grim 5%, up to 74% !? The Silver A' Design Award
The Silver A' Design Award is a prestigious award given to top 5% percentile designs that has exhibited an exemplary level of excellence in design. The designs are judged by a panel of three different jury which is composed of Academic, Professional and Focus Group Members. The designs are evaluated with score normalization to remove any biases and are voted on aspects such as functionality, ergonomics, engineering, presentation, innovation, usability, fun details, technology, and any other specific points that could be considered, each of these points are further weighted for different jury groups.
